Wheatly Road. Deal Island Recreation
Area is located adjacent to Deal Island

indoor gymnasium available to the public
for various uses such as basketball,
walking, indoor soccer and some after
school programs. There may be a fee
required for some of the above

Great Hope Golf Course |

Nestled in the wetlands of Somerset
County, Maryland lies "one of the most
beautiful golf courses on the Eastern
Seaboard". Designed by the
world-renowned golf architect, Dr.
Michael J. Hurdzan, this 7000-yard
championship course stands as a popular
site for avid golfers. The 45-minute
drive from Ocean City is more than
offset by efficient rounds of 4 hours or
less, as well as the surrounding
attractions the Somerset County area has
to offer. Amenities include a
championship course, 18 holes, Par 72,
five sets of tees, grass practice
facilities, a fully stocked Pro Shop
with brand name apparel, lessons
available by a PGA professional, rental
clubs, memberships, tournaments and
corporate/group outings. Effective July
1, 2009, you must reserve use of the
Pavilion located at the Golf Course. An
Exclusive Use Pavilion Agreement must be

Centralized Athletic Facility |

The Centralized Recreation Facility is
now available for public use. A
walking/jogging trail has been
completed, as well as 7 ball fields and
a concession stand. There is also a
playground. The facility is located
behind the Recreation and Parks office
at 30290 Sam Barnes Road in Westover,
